POLICY STATEMENT

Harborough Academy of Performing Arts is fully committed to safeguarding the well being of its pupils. We recognise that child protection is an important issue for all schools and that we have a duty of care to ensure the safety of young people participating in dance and performing arts.

We have therefore devised our own child protection policies to address this issue. Every individual in Harborough Academy of Performing Arts should, at all times, show respect and understanding for children’s rights, safety and welfare, and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of the school and the guidelines contained in its child protection policy and code of conduct for employees, volunteers and teachers.

We are committed to creating an environment that enables children and young people to learn and develop in a safe, understanding and encouraging environment.
We aim to create a culture of vigilance on child protection issues and would therefore urge every member of Harborough Academy of Performing Arts and those associated with it to help us to protect children by doing the same.
